Banking stocks pull benchmark index lower

The GSE Composite Index declined by 23.63 points (-0.96%) due to losses in EGH (-9.87%) and CAL (-6.25%) to end the week at 2,440.50 with a year-to-date return of -12.51% while the market capitalization was down 0.43% to settle at GH¢63.48 billion.

The GSE Financial Stocks Index decreased by 47.42 points (-2.19%) to close at 2,115.61 with a year-to-date return of -1.68% while the SAS Manufacturing Stocks Index stayed flat to close the week at 2,627.40 with a year-to-date return of -0.02%.

Flows for the Week

A total of 2,086,473 shares valued at GH¢1,865,540 changed hands compared to 11,023,182 shares valued at GH¢9,150,778 last week.

MTNGH dominated trades by both volumes and value, accounting for 87.09% of the total volumes traded and 80.85% of the total value traded.
