Mr. Joe Mensah

Chairman

35 years' expertise in the banking sector and has a wealth of knowledge of the Ghanaian economy, Ghanaian banks and private and public sector institutions. He was the Chief Executive Officer of Ghana International Bank PLC (London) for fourteen years where he created a culture based on performance, efficiency and engagement that placed the bank on a growth trajectory to become one of the leading sub—Saharan African banks in the City of London. Prior to this, he was the General Manager of Ghana International Bank for four years. Mr. Mensah worked as the Head of International Banking at the then Trust Bank Ghana and also worked with Agricultural Development Bank, Ghana where he set up the International Banking Department and spearheaded the introduction of the Western Union Service to Ghana for the first time. Mr. Mensah holds a master's degree in Banking & Finance and a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Directors (UK).

Philip Owiredu

Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Owiredu has been an outstanding leader during his tenure as the Bank’s Executive Director/Chief Financial Officer (CFO) since 2011. He comes to this position with a broad wealth of experience in banking spanning over fifteen years at CalBank, spearheading the key operational aspects of the Bank notably, the digital innovation agenda and leading high-performing teams. Philip has played a key leadership role in driving the expansion of the Bank’s business footprint over the past ten years and has been an instrumental player in the Bank’s growth. With full responsibility for the leadership of CalBank, Philip will continue to drive the Bank’s strong performance and deliver on its strategic objectives. Specifically, Mr. Owiredu’s wide experience in the banking sector spans across Corporate Banking, Retail Banking, Structured & Project Finance, Credit, Financial Control, Treasury, Banking Operations, International Operations, Strategy and Capital Raising. Philip has earned a reputation for his dedication to focused strategy execution, excellent people engagement and strong team-leadership. Philip joined CalBank in 2004 as Financial Controller. Prior to joining the Bank, he was a Senior Manager at KPMG Ghana, a leading firm of chartered accountants, management consultants and tax advisers. He is a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA).

Mr. Richard Arkutu

Non-Executive Director

Mr. Richard Arkutu is a finance professional. He worked with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), World Bank Group for fourteen years in Infrastructure Development. Prior to this, he was the Vice President of Citibank Nigeria, responsible for sub-Saharan Africa Corporate Finance and Investment Banking Department. He also worked as the Manager/ Treasurer for Citibank South & East Africa Corporate Finance Department in Nairobi, Kenya and as a senior Financial Analyst for Ashanti Goldfields Company Limited in their Corporate Finance / Treasury department. He has a Master’s degree from McGill University, Montreal, Quebec, Canada as well as a first degree in Business Economics from Vesalius College, Vrije Universiteit, Brussels, Belgium.

Mr. Ben Gustave Barth

Mr. Ben Gustave Barth is a seasoned, multidisciplinary finance and consulting executive with eighteen years proven track record in analyzing and assessing risk of investment portfolios and in structuring transactions. He is currently the Managing Director for Axcero Advisors. Prior to this, he was a senior partner with The Highland Group, Accra, and Lagos. He also served as the COO and VP Finance with Chester Engineers Africa Inc., Accra, Lagos, and Pittsburgh (USA) and was the Director of Business Development at Jonah Capital Limited. He previously worked with Stanbic Bank Ghana Limited as the regional Operations Head, Ecobank Ghana and Citibank N.A, New York, USA. Mr. Barth has a Master’s degree from Harvard Business School, Boston, MA, USA and a first degree in Business Administration from the University of Ghana, Legon.

Helen Nankani

Mrs. Nankani is a retired Senior Economist who worked with the World Bank for eighteen years. She was one of the pioneers of the World Bank’s work on Privatization of Public Enterprises, and Private Sector Development. She managed projects aimed at determining the economic and financial feasibility of private participation in the water sector principally in South Asia, the Caribbean and Brazil, where she lived for four years. Prior to joining the World Bank, she worked as a consultant with Arthur D. Little Inc., Cambridge, Massachusetts, and The United Nations, New York, N.Y. She was also a partner at Financial Development Services, a consulting firm in Arlington, Virginia.

Ms. Rosalind Nana Emela Kainvah

Ms. Rosalind Nana Emela Kainvah is a lawyer by profession and is Managing Director of Kina Advisory Limited (UK), advising companies on how best to contribute to socio— economic development in the countries in which they operate. Rosalind has extensive experience in Government relations, political risk management, social investment and corporate and environmental law, focusing on the mining and oil industries in Africa. She has held senior positions with Tullow Oil plc and De Beers and has advised governments on policy and legislative matters. She holds a BA (English) from the University of Ghana and an LLM from University College, University of London. She was called to the Bar of England and Wales (Gray‘s Inn) in 1988 and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

Mr. Kofi Osafo—Maafo

Mr. Kofi Osafo—Maafo is the Deputy Director General, Investments & Development at Social Security & National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) of Ghana. He is a senior investment professional with 22 years experience in the UK investment management and investment banking Industrv Kofi has held senior positions at Pictet Asset Management, Unicredit Bank and HSBC Global Asset Management. He has experience across a wide range of sectors including Oil & Gas, Mining, Building & Construction and Agriculture and Chemicals, covering transactions across Europe, North America, and Global Emerging Markets including Africa. Kofi holds an MA (International Business & Finance) from University of Reading (UK) and a BSc (Economics) from Queen Mary’s College, University of London.

Nana Otuo Acheampong

Nana Otuo Acheampong is a Banking Consultant and the Executive head of the Osei Tutu II Centre for Executive Education & Research (OTCEER) in Ghana. Prior to this appointment, he headed the Faculty of Financial Reporting and Investment Banking at the Ghana National Banking College (GNBC) for 4 years – 2008 to 2012. In 2008, he was appointed to head the Faculty of Financial Reporting & Investment Banking at the GNBC, where he headed various sub-committees. He has been the Chairman of the Award Planning Board of the Ghana Banking Awards (GBA) since 2012. He holds an undergraduate degree in Accounting & Management Science from the University of Southampton, UK & a postgraduate diploma in Management as well as an Accounting degree from University of Northumbria, Newcastle, UK. He has been a member of the British Accounting§ Association since 1994 and is currently a member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland.

Mr. Kweku Baah Korsah

Mr. Kweku (Yoku) Baa Korsah (age 59). Mr. Korsah is a Technology consultant and Business Strategist. He is currently the CEO of Blue Chain Africa Limited, a transactions technology provider that powers solutions for the payment industry around the globe. Prior to this, he was the Managing Director of JMR Infotech Ghana Ltd for 5 years providing software and technology support services to the financial service sector. Mr. Korsah was the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Ghana interbank Payment and Settlement Systems Ltd (GhiPSS) from 2007-2012. GHiPSS is a subsidiary of the Central Bank of Ghana providing electronic payment switching to the financial services Sector in Ghana. Prior to GHiPSS, Mr. Korsah worked as Management Consultant with KPMG Ghana for 18 years, heading the Business Advisory Services unit of KPMG’s practice in Ghana. He is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, (FCMA), and Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA). He has an MSc. In Business Systems Analysis and Design from City University, London, UK.

Mr. Solomon Asamoah

Mr. Solomon Asamoah is an investment professional with 25 years of experience in both developed and developing markets. In 2017, he was appointed the CEO of the Ghana Infrastructure Investment (GIIF) fund, a sovereign investment vehicle. Solomon was an advisor to Federal Government of Nigeria on the implementation of their infrastructure program. He has also served as the Vice President of Infrastructure, Private Sector and Regional Integration at the African Development Bank (AFDB), the Vice President for Private Sector and International Investment at the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA) based in Johannesburg and a principal Investment officer at the International Finance Corporation (IFC) Johannesburg. Mr. Asamoah started his career as an investment banker with HSBC Markets, London. He has personally led over US$4 billion in transactions across the African continent. He has a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College University of London, UK.

Dr. Cynthia Ayodele Forson

Dr. Cynthia Forson is currently an Associate Professor in Human Resource Management and Organizational Behavior and Deputy Provost at the Lancaster University Ghana. Prior to this, she was the Head of Department, Management leadership and organization, Hertfordshire Business School. She the Principal Lecturer in HRM, Associate Head of Department and Head of HRM subject group in the same University. Prior to this, Dr. Forson was the Senior Lecturer in HRM and programmer Tutor for BA (Hons) Business Studies programmer at Queen Mary College, University of London, UK. She was also the Teaching and Research Fellow, School of Management at University of Hertfordshire, UK. Dr. Forson was also a lecturer in HRM at Hertfordshire Business School as the Human resource Director. She worked as a Junior Associate, Corporate Law at Maxwell and Maxwell Law office Monrovia Liberia for 4 years. She has a Bachelor of laws from the University of Ghana and a Master of Law (LLM) from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, USA. Dr. Forson has an MBA from University of Hertfordshire, UK as well as a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from Queen Mary’s College, University of London, UK.
