Clydestone Ghana Limited (CLYD) is an indigenous information technology company, which provides payment systems solutions in Ghana in the form of ATMs, POS, mobile and web. Clydestone provides cheque truncation systems to banks, it also runs G-switch (Global Switch), an electronic payment platform providing transaction switching, third party processing and EFT hosting services to banks, independent service organizations and micro finance institutions. G-switch is certified with China Union Pay (CUP), the Chinese Bankcard Association and is a Global Acquiring Partner of CUP. Clydestone currently has operations in Ghana and Nigeria and aims to become a leading ICT company in West Africa. It is a dormant stock, which has recorded minimal trading activity since its listing on the Ghana Stock Exchange.

  • 1986: Year incorporated
  • 2004: Listed on the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE)
  • 2012: The GSE suspended trading in CLYD for failure to organise an annual general meeting. This was subsequently lifted.
  • 2013: Clydestone, Kenswitch and Chase Bank launched China Union Pay in Kenya with 16 banks
  • 2013: Nigeria’s largest bank, First Bank Plc selected Clydestone’s G-secure authentication platform for fraud prevention.
