Alain Nkontchou is the Managing Partner and co-founder of Enko Capital Management LLP, an asset management company based in London and Johannesburg, which focuses on African investment opportunities. Mr Nkontchou was an advisor at Laurent Perrier champagne, having been a NonExecutive Director from 1999 to 2009. He was Managing Director of Credit Suisse’s Global Macro Trading Group in London between 1995 and 2008 and also at JP Morgan Chase & Co. in the same capacity. Between 1989 and 1994, he was with Chemical Bank in Paris and New York, where he became Vice- President, Head of Trading and Sales. Mr Nkontchou has a track record of business success, having generated significant dollar revenues for each of these top tier institutions. He has an MSc in Electrical Engineering from Supe?lec and P.M. Curie University, Paris, and an MSc in Finance and Accounting from ESCP (Ecole Supe?rieure de Commerce de Paris).

Mr Ayeyemi is a highly experienced banker who has had a long and successful career with Citigroup, where he is currently Chief Executive Officer of Citigroup’s sub-Saharan Africa division, based in Johannesburg. He is an Accounting graduate of the University of Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree with First Class Honours. He also studied at the University of London and is an alumnus of Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Programme. A Chartered Accountant, Mr Ayeyemi is also a trained UNIX Administrator and Network Operating Systems Manager. His many interests include business strategy, economics, process engineering and technology.

Mrs Aichatou Agne Pouye has more than 30 years’ experience in the private sector, public administration and international organisations. She has held leadership positions in many organisations and has strong skills in people management, auditing and enterprise management, marketing of banking services, access to finance for SMEs, international trade negotiations and trade related technical assistance. Her career started as an auditor at Ernst and Young International, Dakar, Senegal in 1984. In 1990 she joined Citibank and spent 10 years as Resident Vice-President, Group Vice-President and member of the Management Committee. In 2000, she became General Administrator of the Economic Promotion Fund, a refinancing fund for SMEs established by the African Development Bank and the Senegalese Government. In 2001, she was appointed as Senegal’s Minister of SMEs and Trade, and then became Minister of Trade. From 2006 until 2017 she was Director of Business and Institutional Support and Director of Market Development the International Trade Center, a UN and WTO agency. She holds a Specialised Postgraduate Degree in Management and Business Administration from IAE, Caen, France, and BSC and MSC in Economics from the Université de Paris 9 Dauphine (France).

Dr. Catherine Ngahu is a consultant, educator and entrepreneur with over 25 years’ experience in business strategy, marketing, research, ICT policy and corporate governance. She has been a senior lecturer at the University of Nairobi for many years and is founder and Executive Chairman of SBO Research Ltd. She has consulted for a wide range of African organisations in financial services, FMCG, energy, ICT, telecommunications and manufacturing. She is the Chairperson of the Advisory Council on the Universal Service Fund for ICT in Kenya and a board member of AAR Insurance, Moran Publishing and the Africa Centre for Transformative and Inclusive Leadership. She was previously Chairperson of Uchumi Supermarkets Plc, on the Kenya ICT Board and the Project Governance and Oversight Committee of the World Bank funded Kenya Transparency and Communications Infrastructure Project. The President of the Republic of Kenya awarded her Elder of the Order of the Burning Spear in 2011. She holds a PhD in Business Administration, an MBA and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Nairobi and was a Business Research Fellow at Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania. Tei Mante is an Economic and Financial Consultant with nearly forty years of financial markets’ experience in Investment Banking, Project Finance and Private Equity. He worked with the World Bank Group in Washington DC from 1975 to 2000, during which time he worked on a variety of assignments, including heading the Africa and Agribusiness Departments of the International Finance Corporation (‘IFC’). He has also worked as a consultant for the African Development Bank, the Government of Ghana, the European Commission, UNECA and the Government of Sierra Leone. He has considerable board level experience, having represented IFC on the Boards of the Caribbean Financial Services Corporation, the Africa Emerging Markets Fund and the West Africa Growth Fund and having chaired the Africa Project Development Facility Board. He was Chairman of the Board of Ecobank Ghana between 2006 and 2010 and currently is a member of the Investment Committee of the West Africa Emerging Markets Growth Fund. Tei holds an MBA from Columbia University, New York, and a BSc in Administration from The University of Ghana. He is also an alumnus of INSEAD (IEP).

Greg Davis joined Ecobank as Group Chief Financial Officer in October 2016. Greg has nearly two decades of banking and financial services experience and is an accomplished banking CFO. Prior to joining Ecobank, he had a successful career with both Standard Bank and Barclays PLC, most recently holding the role of CFO for Standard Bank’s Africa division, which encompasses 17 countries. He has worked in banking in Africa for over 10 years, building on his successful career in financial services in London before that. Greg is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the strategic management of all the financial and fiscal aspects of the bank’s finance operations. A qualified Chartered Accountant, and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW), Greg holds a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Economic and Social History from the University of Leicester, England.

She is replacing Dr. Daniel Matjila who resigned from the ETI Board when he left his role as Chief Executive Officer of PIC.

Prior to his current role, Ayo Adepoju was Group Head of Business Performance and Analytics. He worked on the strategic aspects of the financial management of the Group, including close equity investor interaction. He has built up significant experience within the Group and has a deep understanding of the underlying drivers of the business across Africa which are imperative for the continued growth of the Group. Ayo has also worked in the past as Ecobank’s Group Financial Controller, when he was responsible for financial and regulatory reporting for the Group. Prior to joining Ecobank, he had a career at PricewaterhouseCoopers in London and Lagos as an Assurance Manager in the financial services practice. He is an Accounting graduate of the University of Lagos, Nigeria, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree with First Class Honours and has an MBA from Warwick Business School, United Kingdom. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) with national overall best prize awards at two consecutive stages of the ICAN examinations. He has attended executive education courses at both the Harvard Business School and the London Business School.

Mr. Brian Kennedy is currently Group Managing Executive, Nedbank Corporate and Investment banking. Brian Kennedy has been working in investment banking for the past 29 years, the last 21 of which have been with the Nedbank Group. He worked in the engineering industry for six years and moved into investment banking at FirstCorp Merchant Bank in 1988. In 1996, Brian joined BoE NatWest and was appointed Managing Director of BoE Merchant Bank in 1998. He led the Capital Markets business in Nedbank following the merger with BoE and in November 2003, was appointed Managing Executive of Nedbank Capital and member of the Nedbank Group Executive Committee. He is also responsible for the London operations of Nedbank. Following the integration of Nedbank Capital and Nedbank Corporate in 2015 into a single client-facing wholesale business, Brian has been leading the teams responsible for developing and driving the overall strategy, positioning and business growth. He holds a BSc (Eng) (cum laude), MSc (Eng), MBA and is an Alumnus of the Advance Management Program of Harvard University.

Mr. David O’Sullivan is Head of Group Legal for QNB, a position he has been holding since 2012. He has over 20 years’ experience as a lawyer and investment banker working on corporate and financing transactions in the emerging markets (principally in the Middle East, Africa and Eastern Europe). Prior to his current position, he was Director, Gulf Investment Incorporation, 2006-2012, Associate Director, HSBC Corporate Finance 2003-2006 and Senior Associate at Clifford Chance LLP, London, Dubai and Moscow from 1996-2003. He played a leading role in QNB’s investment in Ecobank. Since 2016, he has been a Director of the QNB Global Funds ICAV (an EU fund authorized by the Central Bank of Ireland with sub-funds focusing on sectors including MENA and Sub-Saharan Africa). Mr. O’Sullivan is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a Solicitor, Law Society of England and Wales. He has a Law degree (LLB) from the Trinity College, Dublin.

Mr. Kié was successfully selected as Managing Director after a rigorous selection process which included both internal candidates within Ecobank as well as external candidates. Prior to this new appointment, Mr. Charles Kié was the Group Executive, Corporate and Investment Bank for Ecobank Transnational Incorporated (ETI), responsible for leading the Ecobank Group’s Corporate and Investment Banking business across the global network of 40 countries, 36 of which are in Africa. Charles Kié represents ETI on the Board of Directors of EBI.SA, the Ecobank subsidiary in France as well as Ecobank Development Corporation (EDC), the investment banking arm of the Ecobank Group. Mr. Kié joined Ecobank in October 2011 as Chief Operating Officer of the then Ecobank Capital and was subsequently appointed the Head of the Group’s Corporate Banking business. Before joining the Ecobank Group, between 2008-2011, Mr. Charles Kié was Group CEO of Groupe Banque Atlantique, based in Togo and then Côte d’Ivoire. Groupe Banque Atlantique (now majority owned by Banque Centrale Populaire of Morocco) had operations in 8 countries in West Africa and 1 in Central Africa as well as a representative Office in Paris (France). Mr. Kié also had a successful career with Citibank between 1997 and 2008, rising to the position of CEO of Citigroup West Africa between 2004 and 2008. Mr. Charles Kié is a graduate of Ecole Superieure de Commerce d’Abidjan (Cote d’Ivoire), has an MBA from the London School of Economics-New York University Stern-HEC Paris, and an MSc from the University Of Clermont Ferrand (France). He has attended the Harvard Business School- Advanced Management Program. An Ivorian national, Mr Kié is fluent in both English and French. A national of Pakistan, Amin Manekia’s joins Ecobank with 28 years of international corporate banking experience. It includes an excellent grounding in transaction banking, commercial banking, credit risk, and general management. His career spans various business and regional leadership roles across different parts of the world, notably the United States, Eastern Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Mr Manekia was most recently with Citigroup, where he spent 25 years of his career. He joined Citigroup directly from university in the United States in 1988, moving to South Africa earlier this year as Managing Director and Africa Head for Citi Securities & Banking. In this role, he successfully led Citibank’s Institutional Clients business. Before his move to South Africa, Mr Manekia spent two transit years at the Samba Financial Group in Saudi Arabia. There, he was the executive responsible for rebuilding the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s corporate banking portfolio following the financial crisis. Prior to this, he held various positions with Citibank in dfferent businesses and regions. These included his Nairobi-based role as Managing Director & Banking Head for East and Southern Africa, with business management responsibilities for corporate banking for that region. In 2007, he was the Commercial Banking Head across Citibank’s Africa platform. As Citibank Country Head for Bulgaria from 2004 to 2007, Mr Manekia successfully led the execution and development of a transformation strategy, which he achieved by quadrupling the bank’s business revenue base within his three-year tenure. In 1993, he relocated from New York to Pakistan, where he worked on the origination side of the business. During his six-year tenure in Pakistan, he held a series of corporate banking roles in Karachi and Lahore. Mr Manekia’s appointment as Group Executive of Ecobank’s Corporate and Investment Banking business takes effect from 4 July 2016. He will report directly to the Ecobank Group CEO and will be responsible for the following business lines: Corporate Banking Group; Transaction Service Group; Investment Banking Group; Fixed Income, Currencies & Commodities (Treasury); and Securities, Wealth and Asset Management. Amin Manekia holds a degree in Business Administration and Finance from Boston University School of Management.

Laurence do Rego, whose career spans some 30 years, joined Ecobank in 2002 as Financial Controller for the Group’s Benin subsidiary. She was later appointed Financial Controller for parent company ETI and became the Group’s Chief Financial Officer in 2005. Mrs. do Rego has played a critical role in supporting the growth of the Ecobank Group from twelve countries to the scale and breadth that it enjoys today with a presence in 40 countries. She has been part of the team that led Ecobank's expansion into East and Southern Africa, including its acquisition of Oceanic Bank as part of its Nigeria subsidiary strategy.
