Mr. Jude Kofi Arthur

Jude Arthur graduated from the University of Ghana Business School with a B.Sc. Administration, Accounting major (second class upper) in 1976. He is also a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Banking Ghana. His working career has been mainly in the Banking Industry. He had had extensive executive education in Leadership, Finance, Governance, Strategy and Organizational Effectiveness over his thirty-year Working Career. His banking career commenced in Merchant Bank Ghana Limited in 1978 as a Project Officer and a Relationship Manager. He had a well-structured career path which took him through key areas of Banking notably Credit Evaluation, International Trade Finance, Branch Operations, Risk Management, Treasury And Corporate Finance. His commitment and holistic approach to challenges enhanced his career progression. He held key positions as a Relationship Manager, Project Officer and Branch Manager and in 1987 was appointed the Senior Manager and Head of the Corporate Finance Division and a Director of Merban Investment Holding Limited a subsidiary of the Bank. He held these positions reporting directly to the Managing Director of the Bank until 1994 when he left Merchant Bank Limited. In June 1994, he joined a group of Investors with a shared vision to set up First Atlantic Merchant Bank Limited (FAMBL) now First Atlantic Bank and was appointed the first Managing Director of the Bank. The pioneering role, which he played, and his responsibility for putting together the feasibility report and business plan of the bank for the banking licence was a unique learning opportunity for him and it certainly provided him with key insights into the Business of Banking. He was Managing Director from 1994 to 2012 when he left the bank honorably after eighteen years services at the highest level – as Managing Director. He has extension executive training in banking and has a clear understanding of the risks and growth factors in banking as well as in Strategic Planning and Leadership, Emotional Intelligence, Corporate Governance, Risk Management and Organizational Effectiveness. His executive education took him through such prestigious and well renowned institution as Insead-France, Wharton Business School- University of Pennsylvania, Templetion College, Oxford University, Stanford University, National University of Singapore (Nus), Ashridge Institute of Management, Euromoney Training School and the International Centre for Monetary and Banking Studies in Geneva. In addition to these, he had the benefit of attachment to Grindlays Bank India and Ans in London. At the governance level, he had exposure in making corporate boards effective and the evaluation of risk and compliance at a programme run by Harvard Business School. His formal Education, Leadership Programmes and Seminars and his working experience at the highest levels have provided him with skills and competencies to develop and executes strategy and lead at the top not only in Banking but across industry sector. He has a deep knowledge of the Banking System, the wider Capital Markets and an appreciation of Compliance at all levels in organisations. · He has had the opportunity to serve as a member of the study group whose recommendation formed the basis for the setting up of the Ghana Stock Exchange · He was the joint Lead Manager of the Ghana Portion of the Ashanti Goldfields share offer, which resulted in the listing of the then AGC on the Ghana Stock Exchange. · As Chairman of the National Communication Authority, we initiated the formulation of the first Long Term Mobile Licences which reflected Best Industry Practice and met Global Telecom Standards.

Mr. John Kofi Adomakoh

John Kofi Adomakoh is a seasoned banker with over 25 years’ experience, 15 of which have been at Executive Management level. Kofi joins GCB Bank Limited (GCB) from African Export-Import Bank headquartered in Cairo where he worked as a Director & Global Head, Project and Asset-Based Finance. Prior to that, he held leadership roles at Barclays Bank Ghana Limited (now ABSA Bank Ghana Limited), The Trust Bank Ghana Limited and Ecobank Ghana Limited. Kofi has worth of experience in International, Corporate and Institutional (Large, Corporate, Mid-Corporate and Consumer Client segments) as well as transaction Banking, Development Finance, Project and Export Finance, with a track record in delivering business transformation and high-quality outcomes. He led and structured several transactions worth over USD1O billion across the African continent (both public and private sector) in different industry including manufacturing, health, telecom, energy including oil and gas, transport (ports, airports, rails and roads), mining and agriculture among others. Kofi is an inspiring and energetic leader who is widely known for his collaborative leadership style and for building high performance teams. Mr. Afram is a Finance Professional with over 15 years’ experience in the financial sector. He has a wealth of experience across strategy; business performance and reporting (financial, regulatory and statutory); debt and capital raising; business combination; investment and risk management. Prior to joining GCB in 2016, he was the Finance Director of Fidelity Bank Ghana Ltd. Other positions he held at Fidelity include Head of Research and Head of Business Performance and Financial Control. He worked with UBA (Ghana) as Senior Analyst deputizing for the Financial Controller. He also worked with Export Finance Company Limited as Head of Finance and Administration and General Leasing and Finance Company Limited as Analyst for lease credit applications. Socrates is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), having qualified in June 2003. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA Finance) degree from the University of Ghana Business School and a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) degree from the University of Cape Coast; he is an alumnus of Wharton Executive Education, University of Pennsylvania, USA.

Mrs. Lydia Gyamera Essah

Mrs. Lydia Essah joins the Board bringing a wealth of banking experience. She enjoyed a career with GCB that spanned over thirty years, beginning at the branch level and culminating in the position of Chief Manager and Area Manager of the Tema Zone, responsible for all operational aspects of 19 Branches. As an innovator and leader, Mrs. Essah was responsible for reshaping certain aspects of Branch culture including the introduction of professional business dress codes before the Bank came out with its dress code, creating Corporate Desk at the Branch and Branch Management Committee System. Mrs. Essah holds a Masters Degree from GIMPA (Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration, MPHIL), a Bachelors Degree from the University of Ghana (English/History – Honours) as well as numerous professional development certificates and programs both international and national. Mrs Essah is a seasoned banking operations executive with a demonstrated record of exceeding profit target.

Mr. Ray Ankrah is a highly experienced Chartered Accountant and Chartered Global Management Accountant with solid technical knowledge and excellent communication skills, strong analytical skills and an effective team player. An influential leader who is driven by the passion for the cause. He holds a post graduate diploma in Strategic Financial Management from Kingston University in the UK. He had the opportunity to work in audit in Liberia acquiring extensive experience in the audit of large companies and in the small and medium enterprises sector. Mr. Francis Arthur-Collins is an Information Technologist with over 30 years experience in implementing information technology systems in the industry. Mr. Arthur-Collins worked with the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) from 1985 to 2012, spanning 27 years. He was first engaged as a Computer Programmer later held the positions of Senior Programmer and Systems Analyst from 1983 to 1992. In 1992, he was promoted to the position of Management Information Systems (MIS) Manager with oversight responsibility for IT systems at both Tema and Takoradi ports, and finally appointed the Head of IT in 1998, a position he held until retiring from GPHA in 2012. While in GPHA, Arthur-Collins developed IT Policy, IT Strategy and IT Procedural manuals for the establishment of IT departments at Tema and Takoradi ports, to implement GPHA’s computer-based systems. He also carried out a comprehensive requirement definition study to review existing IT systems and defined the appropriate IT infrastructural and communications requirements for the installation and establishment of LAN/WAN networks to enhance GPHA’s business operations and to provide the required IT infrastructural platform for implementing the GCNet. Mr. Arthur-Collins graduated in Data Processing from the University of Science and Technology, Kumasi in 1984, and subsequently pursued professional studies in IT at the Management Development and Institute Ghana; National Institute of Information Technology, UK; Intelligent Africa South Africa; and the Institute of Systems Science, National University of Singapore. Osmani Aludiba Ayuba is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountant, Ghana, (ICAG) and also a member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS). He has an M.A in Economic Policy Management from the University of Ghana, a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Cape Coast (second class upper division) and a Diploma in Education from University of Cape Coast. He started his career as a young Accountant in 1999 with Eastern Bells Ltd (a key distributor of Uniliver Ghana) and later as an Auditor with Ernst and Young Ghana. He has worked in the fields of accounting, finance, procurement and audit. Notable organisations he worked with include Community Water & Sanitation Agency as Project Accountant and Financial Consultant, Danish Embassy (DANIDA) as a Program Financial Manager, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) as Head of Finance, EngenderHealth Ghana as Finance & Operations Manager, West Africa Trade Hub (USAID funded project) as Senior Accounts Manager, Parliamentary Centre, Africa ( funded by CIDA) as Finance & Administration Manager, Stanbic Bank Ghana as Head of Procurement for five years and Ghana Agricultural Sector Investment Programme as a Zonal Financial Controller. Mrs Patience E. Akyianu is currently the Chief Executive Officer of the Hollard Group in Ghana and is a director of both the Boards of Hollard Insurance Ghana (General Insurance) and Hollard Life Assurance Ghana. Patience is a very experienced and well-rounded business leader with strong commercial acumen and has over 26 years’ experience in Banking and Finance having spent the recent 17 years in the banking industry before joining the Insurance Industry in October 2018. She previously served as Managing Director of Barclays Bank Ghana for 5 years where she built a high performing and more diverse leadership team. Prior to that, she was the Finance Director of Barclays Bank Ghana. Under her strong leadership, the performance of the bank consistently exceeded expectations, culminating in its position as the most profitable bank in Ghana. She holds an MBA (Finance) and a Bsc in Business Administration (Accounting Option, First Class Honours), both from the University of Ghana Business School. She is a certified professional accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana. Patience is also an honorary member of the Ghana Institute of Directors.
