Jude Arthur graduated from the University of Ghana Business School with a B.Sc. Administration, Accounting major (second class upper) in 1976. He is also a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Banking Ghana. His working career has been mainly in the Banking Industry. He had had extensive executive education in Leadership, Finance, Governance, Strategy and Organizational Effectiveness over his thirty-year Working Career. His banking career commenced in Merchant Bank Ghana Limited in 1978 as a Project Officer and a Relationship Manager. He had a well-structured career path which took him through key areas of Banking notably Credit Evaluation, International Trade Finance, Branch Operations, Risk Management, Treasury And Corporate Finance. His commitment and holistic approach to challenges enhanced his career progression. He held key positions as a Relationship Manager, Project Officer and Branch Manager and in 1987 was appointed the Senior Manager and Head of the Corporate Finance Division and a Director of Merban Investment Holding Limited a subsidiary of the Bank. He held these positions reporting directly to the Managing Director of the Bank until 1994 when he left Merchant Bank Limited. In June 1994, he joined a group of Investors with a shared vision to set up First Atlantic Merchant Bank Limited (FAMBL) now First Atlantic Bank and was appointed the first Managing Director of the Bank. The pioneering role, which he played, and his responsibility for putting together the feasibility report and business plan of the bank for the banking licence was a unique learning opportunity for him and it certainly provided him with key insights into the Business of Banking. He was Managing Director from 1994 to 2012 when he left the bank honorably after eighteen years services at the highest level – as Managing Director. He has extension executive training in banking and has a clear understanding of the risks and growth factors in banking as well as in Strategic Planning and Leadership, Emotional Intelligence, Corporate Governance, Risk Management and Organizational Effectiveness. His executive education took him through such prestigious and well renowned institution as Insead-France, Wharton Business School- University of Pennsylvania, Templetion College, Oxford University, Stanford University, National University of Singapore (Nus), Ashridge Institute of Management, Euromoney Training School and the International Centre for Monetary and Banking Studies in Geneva. In addition to these, he had the benefit of attachment to Grindlays Bank India and Ans in London. At the governance level, he had exposure in making corporate boards effective and the evaluation of risk and compliance at a programme run by Harvard Business School. His formal Education, Leadership Programmes and Seminars and his working experience at the highest levels have provided him with skills and competencies to develop and executes strategy and lead at the top not only in Banking but across industry sector. He has a deep knowledge of the Banking System, the wider Capital Markets and an appreciation of Compliance at all levels in organisations. · He has had the opportunity to serve as a member of the study group whose recommendation formed the basis for the setting up of the Ghana Stock Exchange · He was the joint Lead Manager of the Ghana Portion of the Ashanti Goldfields share offer, which resulted in the listing of the then AGC on the Ghana Stock Exchange. · As Chairman of the National Communication Authority, we initiated the formulation of the first Long Term Mobile Licences which reflected Best Industry Practice and met Global Telecom Standards.

He led and structured several transactions worth over USD1O billion across the African continent (both public and private sector) in different industry including manufacturing, health, telecom, energy including oil and gas, transport (ports, airports, rails and roads), mining and agriculture among others. She enjoyed a career with GCB that spanned over thirty years, beginning at the branch level and culminating in the position of Chief Manager and Area Manager of the Tema Zone, responsible for all operational aspects of 19 Branches. As an innovator and leader, Mrs. Essah was responsible for reshaping certain aspects of Branch culture including the introduction of professional business dress codes before the Bank came out with its dress code, creating Corporate Desk at the Branch and Branch Management Committee System. Mrs. Essah holds a Masters Degree from GIMPA (Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration, MPHIL), a Bachelors Degree from the University of Ghana (English/History – Honours) as well as numerous professional development certificates and programs both international and national. Mr. Francis Arthur-Collins is an Information Technologist with over 30 years experience in implementing information technology systems in the industry. Mr. Arthur-Collins worked with the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) from 1985 to 2012, spanning 27 years. He was first engaged as a Computer Programmer later held the positions of Senior Programmer and Systems Analyst from 1983 to 1992. In 1992, he was promoted to the position of Management Information Systems (MIS) Manager with oversight responsibility for IT systems at both Tema and Takoradi ports, and finally appointed the Head of IT in 1998, a position he held until retiring from GPHA in 2012. While in GPHA, Arthur-Collins developed IT Policy, IT Strategy and IT Procedural manuals for the establishment of IT departments at Tema and Takoradi ports, to implement GPHA’s computer-based systems. He also carried out a comprehensive requirement definition study to review existing IT systems and defined the appropriate IT infrastructural and communications requirements for the installation and establishment of LAN/WAN networks to enhance GPHA’s business operations and to provide the required IT infrastructural platform for implementing the GCNet. Mr. Arthur-Collins graduated in Data Processing from the University of Science and Technology, Kumasi in 1984, and subsequently pursued professional studies in IT at the Management Development and Institute Ghana; National Institute of Information Technology, UK; Intelligent Africa South Africa; and the Institute of Systems Science, National University of Singapore. Kofi is a qualified Lawyer from the Ghana Law School, Accra, and he has MBA in Finance from the University of Ghana Business School and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Ghana, Legon. He is a Member of the Ghana Bar Association, and also ACI Certified in both Dealing and Operations. Kofi joined GCB in November, 1991 at the Planning and Research Division of the Bank and rose to become the Head of the Division. He has held various positions including the Chief Dealer of the Bank. In October, 1999 he was transferred to the Treasury Department and rose to become the Head of Treasury Department in August, 2008 to present.

John Arthur has been the Acting Head, Systems & Information Technology Department of the Bank since 2020. He has more than twenty-five years of experience as an Information Technology and Project Management Professional. Prior to his current role, he served the Bank in various capacities at Systems & Information Technology Division, Inspection & Audit Division, Human Resources Division, and the Project Management Office. He has chalked repeated successes leading to some of the Bank’s key transformational initiatives in IT Operations. He has extensive experience managing cross-functional teams in the design, integration, and implementation of cutting- edge technology solutions. He has a PGC in Business Administration from the University of Leicester and a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Statistics from the University of Ghana. He is a certified ISO-27001 Lead Implementer.

Jessie Jacintho was appointed General Counsel on 15th February 2016 and is responsible for leading the legal function of the Bank. Jessie has an Executive Masters Degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Option from the University of Ghana Business School and has close to 25 years’ experience as a legal practitioner. Jessie has over twenty years’ experience as an in-house counsel having worked with Barclays Bank of Ghana now Absa Bank Ghana for fourteen years, sixteen months with The First Group Limited an investment and management company as its General Counsel and Corporate Affairs Director and during the same period double hatted as the acting Legal Director of Universal Merchant Bank an investee company of The First Group. The remaining period of her in-house counsel role is her current role in GCB. Prior to starting her career as an in-house counsel she worked as a private legal practitioner with the law firm Naoferg Chambers.
